Please join us to celebrate Nancy Crowell, retiring after 45 years of exceptional leadership, and to kick off the campaign for Nancy’s Generator Fund.
Under Nancy Crowell’s guidance, the Scarborough Public Library has become a beacon in our community, where everyone receives a warm welcome and the power of knowledge is accessible to all. She has created a library that is not just a repository for books but also a place that inspires imagination, provides entertainment, spurs innovation, and fosters lifelong learning and community engagement. The library has become a safe space, where those in need of shelter and light find an open door.
To honor Nancy’s many years of service and ongoing commitment to the well-being of our community, we are pleased to launch the newly created Nancy’s Generator Fund. Donations raised for the fund will allow practical improvements, including a long overdue generator, ensuring that the library can keep pace with the community’s evolving needs and that minds can stay open even when the lights are out at home.
Tickets to Nancy’s retirement celebration on September 10 are $50 per person and include catered refreshments by Black Betty's Bistro, assorted beverages with beer and wine bar, live music, and presentation of tributes to Nancy.
