Interlibrary Loan Update

Interlibrary loan requests between libraries are temporarily suspended, which means that you cannot request books from other libraries to be delivered to Scarborough Public Library. In the meantime, you can still use your Scarborough Library card to request us to pull items from our own collection, which will wait for you on the holds pick-up shelf as normal.

You can also use your library card at any Maine library with reciprocal borrowing (your SPL library card must be current and in good standing to use at another participating local library). Local libraries you can visit and check out with your SPL library card:

· Baxter Memorial Library (Gorham)

· Thomas Memorial Library (Cape Elizabeth)

· South Portland Public Library

· Walker Memorial Library (Westbrook)

Additionally, all residents of Cumberland Country are entitled to a free Portland Public Library card. You can register at the main library or any of the branches.

Don’t forget you can access many digital resources with your card, including eBooks, audio books, magazines, and movies! Learn all about them on the library’s website, here.

We unfortunately were not given a timeline for when the delivery service will return. You can find more detailed information from the Maine State Library about the situation, here.

Thank you for your understanding.
