One of the Library's missions is to provide community connections. Under the banner, "ScarboroughHelps.org" the Library has joined several other community nonprofits, including Project G.R.A.C.E., to host information displays at the Scarborough Farmers Market each Sunday, 9:00 to 1:00, in the municipal building parking lot. Scarborough is the home of many organizations that support our needs and enrich our lives. It is in the spirit of collaboration that we share the market space and enjoy meeting members of our community. Look for us on Sundays until the market closes at the end of October.

Many of the people we have had the pleasure of meeting this summer are new residents. They are eager to learn about our community and appreciate the information we provide. The latest census estimate shows that Scarborough now ranks 7th in population and is nearly tied for 6th.  We have seen this growth at the Library. We have issued more new library cards this past summer than in any of the past six summers.

To further welcome new residents, we recently held our first new member reception and library tour. The guests gave us a "thumbs up" to make this a regular event. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities for all of our neighbors to meet one another, share life experiences, and build a warm and welcoming community together.

I hope to see you soon at the Library,

Sincerely,
