Optimism

A Message from the Director --

Early February 2024

If I think about it, February is a month of optimism. Yes, for some that’s merely because it marks the end of dry January…but, as the days get longer and those low temperatures get a little warmer, we’re only weeks away from our feathered friends returning and the sounds of nature waking up from a long slumber. For many, February can also bring the doldrums of winter fatigue…and tax season. To lighten your burden, AARP will be here to help file your taxes every Thursday starting February 1st. Appointments can be arranged from 3:00 to 6:00 by calling (207) 518-8579, and you make pick up an intake form at the library to get the process rolling. This is a free service that helps you and Uncle Sam. If you have a tax return with a few extra dollars and you want to help your neighbors, Project Grace’s Fuel Rally will be at the library February 10th from 10 AM until noon. We are also nearing our goal for Nancy’s generator fund. Let it snow, let it shine, regardless, we will close out this winter with purpose!
