The Library will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of three significant summer of 1969 events – the Stonewall Riots, the Apollo 11 moon landing, and the Woodstock music festival – with a Retro Summer Series and Retro Read adult reading program.

We will be joined by special guests for screenings of documentaries that will take us back in time. And our BINGO-styled Retro Read card will encourage you to explore “retro” and contemporary titles to keep you reading throughout the summer. Retro Read cards will be available at Adult Reference starting June 10 or download the Bingo Card and find helpful hints on our Bingo Page.

All events are free to attend and open to the public. Mark these dates on your calendar!

The Library's Retro Summer Series commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Apollo 11 moon landing, and Woodstock festival. From August 15 to August 18, 1969, more than 400,000 people decended onto Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near White Lake in Bethel, New York -  43 miles southwest of Woodstock - for the Woodstock Music and Art Festival.
