Friends of the Scarborough Library Programs

The Scarborough Public Library is fortunate to have a fantastic Friends group. In addition to being valued Library advocates, the Friends of the Scarborough Library  hold the much-anticipated annual book sale in June. Funds support the Library collection, annual movie licenses needed to make our Monday Movie Matinee series possible, our monthly subscription to BookPage, free passes to area museums and family attractions - and finanial support for the Library's popular Summer Reading Program for the youth in our community. Interested in being a Friend? Check out their website for details. (See earlier link.)

Friends of the Scarborough Library Emerson Lecture - Shipwrecks & Salvage

Shipwrecks & Salvage program

Last September the Friends of Scarborough Library received a generous bequest from Fred Emerson - an engineer, businessman, entrepreneur, and Library Friend. In honor of his generosity and belief in lifelong learning, the Friends Board has used a portion of the bequest to create The Emerson Lectures, a series that will explore innovative ideas in business, science, technology, and engineering.
