September 22, 2018 is National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. The annual event raises awareness about ways to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults. Join the physical therapists from Scarborough's Maine Strong Balance Center here at the Library on September 28 at 1:30pm and learn how you can reduce your risk of falling. Discuss the anatomy and physiology of balance. Learn about tips to reduce your fall risk. View and discuss a demonstration on how to fall safely. This event is offered in partnership with the Library, Maine Strong Balance Center, and Maine Falls Prevention Coalition. It is free to attend and open to the public. No pre-registration required.
