Minecraft @ The Library

With the help of our teen development team, the library has its own dedicated Minecraft server!  Moving forward, we'll have some surprises waiting for you and your friends to discover in our uniquely Maine Minecraft worlds. Watch for Minecraft Miner Days and other special events.

Don't have a Minecraft account?  No problem.  We'll provide you with one while at the library during one of our upcoming Miner Days (see below).  On these days we'll be serving up Minecraft at the library, and providing registration for remote access from home if you have your own Minecraft account.  Come have some fun, and maybe learn something too!  Note: Parents must remain in the Library if child is under 10 yrs. old.

Robot Coding Competition

The library has brought in some fun robots to help introduce simple robotics and coding to our younger patrons.  This Fall we'll once again be forming teams to compete in the international Wonder League Robotics Competetion.  The teams are divided into two age groups: 6-8 & 9-12.  Teams will participate in three rounds of missions to become eligible for a Wonder Workshop Invitational Round in Spring 2018. No programming experience is necessary.

If you missed our informational session on September 25th, don't fret. We won't start the competetion until Monday, October 16th. We have just a few slots available by registering below.  You can also email Tom Corbett at tcorbett [at] scarboroughlibrary.org with questions.

Click here to register. NOTE: Any registrations after 10/12/2017 may go on a waiting list.

When:  Mondays, October 12 thru December, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Where: Library Meeting Room
