  1. Minecraft Miner Day

    • Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!.” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in! Please remember that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

    • In a Library far, far away (it’s really our Library) members of the Jedi Order (also known as our Teen Advisory Board) planned a special mission (a fun Star Wars themed event) for future members of the Jedi Order (kiddos in Grades 4 thru 8). Alright...back to our galaxy! Our TAB team have a fun afternoon of activities in store—including origami Yoda, decorate your own alien, battle of the Star Wars characters, Kahoot, and more!

    • The Library is partnering with the Scarborough Public Schools to introduce important digital literacy skills to all ages within our community using content and services provided by Common Sense, a non-profit organization dedicated to "helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology.”

      The initiative will start with elementary school children—a critical age for developing smart media habits. Parents and children in Grades K-5 are invited to a special Raising Media Smart Elementary Children event on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wentworth Intermediate.
