  1. Teens: Illustrated Journaling
    • Calendar: Scarborough Public Library Teens
    • Start time: 06:00pm
    • Teen Journaling for Grades 6 and up. Inspired by graphic novel formats, Karla will show teens how to create illustrated journals to capture moments in their lives.     • Calendar: Scarborough Public Library Teens
    • Start time: 10:30am
    • The library has brought in some fun robots to help introduce simple robotics and coding to our younger patrons. This summer the library's Systems Librarian, Tom Corbett, will offer a four-week coding class for grades 1-6 starting on June 30th. Graduates wanting to continue their "robot studies" can then join one of our library teams and participate in a national robot coding competition this Fall.     • Movie Night: Grades 6 and up. Honey just got funny! In this animated movie, Barry B. Benson, a bee who just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey and decides to sue the human race - upheaving nature! Jerry Seinfeld provides the voice talent for Barry and is joined by other well-known stars. Popcorn and beverages provided!

    • Great news! Our teen writing group, offered in collaboration with Portland Writers Group Maine (PWGM), will continue to meet over the summer. The group will meet on the following Thursdays: July 6, 20 and August 3, 17 from 6:00pm to 7:45pm. This supportive gathering gives teens the opportunity to get feedback on their work and comment on others’ writing.
