Registration is closed for the Library's summer reading program, but students can still meet the Scarborough Middle School reading requirement of reading 60-75 minutes a week! Keep track any way that works best for you. Follow this link to review the SMS Summer Reading Letter.

  1. Minecraft Miner Day
    • Calendar: Scarborough Public Library Teens
    • Start time: 01:00pm
    • New Schedule: Every Fourth Sunday of the month starting January 28, 2018! Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!.” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in! Please remember that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

    • Calendar: Scarborough Public Library Teens

    • The Scarborough Library is pleased to offer a teen writing group for grades 6-12, offered in collaboration with Portland Writers Group Maine (PWGM). Teen writers will have the chance to receive feedback on their work and comment on others’ writing. All genres are welcome, including fantasy, sci-fi, poetry, and nonfiction. Each workshop will include a short session about topics such as point of view, voice, characterization, and critiquing skills. The Scarborough Teen Writers Group (STWG) will meet every fourth Monday of the month.
