French Conversation Group, Scarborough Public Library

Note: The French Group will not be meeting September 17 as members will be attending the French Lute concert here at the Library on Friday, September 13. The October meeting will be October 15. Expand your speaking skills by practicing the language in a welcoming atmosphere. If you would like more information before joining in, contact Adult Services at  883-4723 option 4. Sen. Angus King, Your Gorvernment, Your Neighborhood

Note date change to September 18. Senator Angus King created the initiative Your Government, Your Neighborhood to get members of his staff out of the office and into communities. These informal “drop in” sessions offer constituents the opportunity to share concerns and learn more about the Senator’s efforts to help Maine residents. Stop by between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and lend your voice to the process!

Author Jeffrey Ryan, Hermit, Appalachian hermit

Jeffrey Ryan will return to the Library to discuss his latest book, Hermit, about a mysterious Maine hermit who lived in the woods of Piscataquis County near the Appalachian Trail in the mid-20th century. Maine State Historican, Earle G. Shettleworth, had this to say about the book. Minecraft Miner Day

Minecraft Miner Day, Scarborough Public Library

Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in! Please remember that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
