Does a project have you in a knot? Get advice from avid knitters. Find ideas to get you started on knitting projects for gifts. Or just bring your yarn and needles and enjoy the comradery of this great group! Please note that youth knitters are welcome but must be at least 7 years old. An adult must also accompany and participate along with the child.

Minecraft Miner Day

Minecraft Miner Day

Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!.” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in! Please remember that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Join Tom Corbett, our Systems Librarian, to learn more about this real-world coding challenge using our Dash & Dot robots. Teams will participate in three rounds of missions to become eligible for a Wonder Workshop Invitational Round in Spring 2018. Come join in the fun! Frank plans to give Mary a normal school experience, despite the child's gifted mathematical abilities but his plans are thwarted when his mother, Evelyn discovers Mary's intelligence. Evelyn begins to take over Mary's life but Frank refuses to let the relationship he has built with his young niece and her chance at a normal life be destroyed. Rated PG-13; 101 minutes.

From October 9-15, One Book, Many Conversations will convene people around the country through online forums and local groups to discuss this seminal work.
