Special Read ME event with award-winning author, Susan Conley! Read ME is a statewide summer reading program that gets Maine’s adults all reading the same books...written by Maine authors and recommended by a Maine author—Tess Gerritsen. This year’s selected titles are Paris Was the Place by Susan Conley and After the Eclipse: A Mother’s Murder, a Daughter’s Search by Sarah Perry.

This summer, Wednesday nights are for teens in Grades 6 and up at the Library's Teen Meetup! Call your friends and drop in from 6pm - 7:30pm to catch up on what you're reading, good movies you've seen, or channels you're following. This week, we'll be joined by artist Nina Sophia Swart. Minecraft Programming Opening Day

Come join us for our first day of coding using Minecraft.  If you've had a little coding experience and like Minecraft, this activity may be for you.  We'll be pushing our limits by trying to code an actual plug-in for our Minecraft server. While some of this might be over our heads (including the librarian's!), the goal here is to work together to do some real coding, even if we ultimately fail or run out of time.

Summer Retro Series, Apollo 11, documentary

The Library's Retro Summer Series commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Apollo 11 moon landing, and Woodstock festival. Join us for the screening of the newly released documentary Apollo 11. Be a witness to never-before-seen footage of the July 16, 1969 mission that placed the first man on the moon.

Starlab with Chewonki

Starlab, Chewonki, Scarborough Public Library

Stop by the Library and explore the Universe in Chewonki’s inflatable Starlab - appropriate for children Ages 5 and up. This "Open House" format will let families view a 15 mintue presentation between the hours of 5pm and 7pm. Before or after visiting the Starlab, kiddos can make a star spinner with Sarah at our expanded Family Craft Night. We’ll also stream a special "Story Time from Space" video in the Youth Room hosted by an astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS).

Woodstock Documentary

Retro Summer Series,  Woodstock, Documentary

The Library's Retro Summer Series commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Apollo 11 moon landing, and Woodstock festival. From August 15 to August 18, 1969, more than 400,000 people decended onto Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near White Lake in Bethel, New York -  43 miles southwest of Woodstock - for the Woodstock Music and Art Festival.
