Friend Fest at 21 Taps

Library Friend Fest, 21 Taps, Friends of Scarborough Library Maine

Join the Friend Fest at 21 Taps, 185 US Route 1, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. This is a special social event for current members and those interested in becoming a Friend of the Library. Come learn about the Friends, meet some new people, play some games, grab a beer and a bite. Some appetizers will be provided by the Friends. Membership signup available that night. Teen Writers Group

Scarborough Teen Writers Group, Portland Writers Group, Scarborough Public Library, teen writing

For Grades 9 thru 12. First date is October 21. The Scarborough Teen Writers Group for high school teens returns the third Monday of the month with a new format! Renee Cote with Portland Writers Group Maine will introduce different ways to inspire your work—from prompts and storyboards, to online tools like Twine, an onliine tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories. The last gathering in May will offer a chance for writers to share their work with friends and family.

October Books On Tap

Books on Tap October Selection

The selection for the October 21 Books on Tap will be Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Please note that we'll be starting 30 minutes earlier in order to overlap less with the live Irish music (stay after to enjoy!). Please arrive at O'Reilly's between 5:00 and 5:30 and we'll start our discussion right at 5:30 and wrap up at 6:30.

Teen Lock In

Spooktacular Lock In, TAB, Scarborough Public Library

Teen in Grades 6 thru 8: Take over the Library for a night of “Spooktacular” themed activities planned by the Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB). Doors will open at 6:00 pm, then we’ll “lock in” everyone at 6:30 pm for two hours of games and fun activities! Pick up is at 8:30 pm. Haunted stacks, arcade-style games, fortune telling, crafts, snacks...and more are in the works! Pre-Register by 5:00 pm October 23. Minimum of 25 must be registered.
