Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

Survivors of Suicide Loss Day 2017, Scarborough Public Library,

The Library is honored to continue its partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to host this important day for families who have survived the loss of a loved one through suicide. Survivor Day is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather around the world at events in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope. This event is free to attend.

Jim Neuger, Camden Conference, Europe on the Edge

Europe will be our focus as our Camden Conference series continues with the presentation, Europe on the Edge, presented by Jim Neuger. The topic will look at the succession of crises that Europe has gone through - the near-collapse of the euro, Russia's use of military force to redraw borders, mass influx of refugees, the daily threat of terrorism, Britain's decision to quit the European Union, the rise of populist political parties - and speculate about the future.
