Library Genealogy Group

genealogy group, ancestry, research help

February date changed to Tuesday, February 27. Special guest will be Dr. Carol P. McCoy, owner of and President of the Maine Genealogy Society. Join us for our monthly Scarborough Public Library Genealogy Group. Whether you are just starting to explore your heritage or well into the process, this “drop in” gathering will introduce you to vetted resources for ancestral research. Don Taylor will be the group's facilitator, bringing a wealth of experience in Internet research and genetic genealogy. Feburary's gathering will feature Dr. Carol P. McCoy, who will share one of her favorite family stories, "The Drowning of Sam Pollock--Uncovering Reality from the Family Myth" originally told by her 97-year-old grandmother. While researching the story that her father drowned at the Jersey Shore when she was a one year old, Carol uncovered many truths about her family. Come and be inspired to uncover your own family history. FMI, contact Adult Reference at 883-4723 option 4, or email askSPL [at]
