Join fellow character adventurers to gain powers, strength, and skills. Together you’ll explore how to take characters from their first adventures to legendary heroes...and maybe pit characters one-on-one against each other.

Books on Tap, The One-In-A-Million Boy, Scarborough Public Library and O'Reilly's Cure

The selection for the January 21st Books on Tap gathering at O'Reilly's Cure will be The One-In-A-Million Boy by Monica Wood. From the highly acclaimed, award-winning, Maine-based, Monica Wood, this is a touching, insightful story about a 104 year-old woman befriending an 11 year old boy and his often-absent father. Arrive at O'Reilly's at 5:30pm to order beverages and bites, then discussion will start at 6:00pm and wrap at 7:00pm.

Minecraft Miner Day

Minecraft Miner Day, Scarborough Public Library

Offered every 4th Sunday of the month! Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in!

At age 70, Forrest Tucker infamously made his escape from the tough San Quentin prison. Having gained his freedom, he embarked on a new set of heists that left the public fascinated and investigators scratching their heads. Robert Redford portrays the "Old Man" in this film based on Tucker's real-life exploits. Rated PG-13; 93 minutes.

Evening Book Discussion - The Sympathizer

A novel, both chilling and funny, of after-the-war Vietnam. The wry, first-person narrator, an aide to a general in the South Vietnamese army, recalls how he escaped before the fall of Saigon. But our hero is a double agent, a communist  sympathizer who will continue to feed information to the North even after he becomes part of the Vietnamese refugee community in Southern California.
