The Scarborough Library offers eBooks through three services: the 3M Cloud Library and Maine Infonet Download Library and ProQuest ebrary. The library owns all of the titles in the 3M Cloud Library and the collection is growing day by day. Scarborough librarians select the titles in the Cloud Library and set the loan rules.
The Maine Infonet Download Library is a shared service of some 200 Maine libraries. We contribute to the service, but do not select the titles nor do we set the loan rules.
Our new ProQuest ebrary service is focused on technology-related titles (software, programming, web development, game design, etc.) and caters to Scarborough's significant "techie" community. Many of these titles are only available online and are not downloadable to an eReading device.
To use any of these eBook services you need an active Scarborough Library card in good standing (not expired, fines less than $5.00, and no outstanding bills for missing material).
If you need assistance with any of the Library's eBook programs, please call the Reference Desk at 883-4723 option 4, email askSPL [at] scarboroughlibrary.org or stop by the Reference Desk with your eReading device.
